Chris Haunold, owner of Idaho Mountain Touring, has been in the biz for more than 30 years. But his love for gear goes back even further, and still drives what customers see in the store today.

“I’m kind of a gear guy, always have been since I was a kid,” he says. “So I’ve always brought in stuff that gets me excited, that I want for myself. In fact, every sport we do at this store is something that I was involved in at some point or another, very heavily.”

At the trade shows, Haunold shops for what intrigues him, stuff that he’d want to buy for himself.

“We have a lot of unusual bikes and bike products in the store,” he says. “Things you wouldn’t usually find. That makes things fun, and fun for the customer, as well.”
