General Summary and Responsibilities:
To provide customer service, warranty, repair, and technical information to consumers and dealers who contact the company by the 800 lines, web-site or e-mail, and/or, walk into the factory.
Essential Functions:
- Act as initial contact for consumer/retailer support and response.
- Immediate response to the 800 consumer line to provide technical/repair/warranty question answering support. Customer conflict resolution and retention with a professional and technically adept manner.
- Monitor and track all incoming consumer requests.
- Report to others on all incoming complaints or concerns on consumer requests – 800 consumer line, e-mails, web-site, etc.
- Monitor and manage the use of the dealer locator program for product location requests.
- Monitor and manage the use of CDI Repair Program/Data entry.
- Ship replacement parts to consumers and dealers as needed with same day action.
- Responsible for organizing, restocking and managing small parts inventory.
- Contact customers when their product is not covered under warranty and offer them the opportunity to purchase replacements.
- Support Sales, Reps, and Dealer Service Reps as well as International Distributors with technical, warranty and repair information, and small parts.
- Act as first point of contact for quality assurance and over-sees the filing of all non-conformance reports.
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Some college preferred.
Experience:
- Must have extensive background and interest in outdoor recreation including backpacking, mountaineering, bicycling, skiing and some type of water sports (paddle).
- Previous experience with company products is strongly preferred.
- Previous employment in outdoor-industry related to customer service, retail, and/or guiding etc.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English in order to effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of customers and dealers on a wide range of issues.
- Knowledge of various computer programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Familiarity with the Internet.
- Excellent telephone skills.
- Must have in depth technical/repair/warranty knowledge of products.
- Must have the ability to maintain CDI procedures and reputation with excellent customer service.
